MaineGeneral is offering an opportunity for a Physical Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary care team at our state-of-the-art hospital! Job Description:

• Provides physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover, and maintain physical mobility/function within an assigned area
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition. Educates and counsels the patient and family/caregiver. Plans and/or assists with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs
• Implements the treatment plan using appropriate modalities during times of high clinical demand with minimal supervision
• Supervises and delegates the care provided by physical therapy assistants according to established licensing laws, state regulations and practice standards
• Complies with requirements of Rehabilitation Services staffing program to meet the needs of the rehabilitation department/s as well as assistance with unexpected staffing issues to meet patient needs

Qualifications:

• Licensed (or eligible) Physical Therapist in the State of Maine

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Passion for helping others regain mobility, function, and confidence
