Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized assessments and direct observation.
  • Design individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that emphasize communication, language skills, fluency, vocal quality, and swallowing mechanics.
  • Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to devise integrated care strategies.
  • Educate patients and their families to promote progress outside of clinical settings.
  • Facilitate speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatient clients when needed, ensuring a holistic approach throughout the patients journey.
  • Keep precise and prompt documentation that meets the expectations of state and federal regulations as well as organizational standards.
  • Engage in lifelong learning by pursuing continuing education and collaborating with peers in the field.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
