The Department of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University invites applications for a visiting faculty residency position. The candidate will join a productive team of senior and junior teacher scholars.The faculty within the Department of Physical Therapy embraces a culture of academic and clinical excellence through interprofessional education and practice, innovative teaching in the Hamilton Clinical Simulations Center, and integrated experiential learning across the Jefferson Health system. The Department of Physical Therapy consists of 15 full-time faculty, clinical laboratory instructors, and student enrollment of 180 students. The Department of Physical Therapy is an integral part of the Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences which also includes the departments of Exercise Science (inclusive of Athletic Training), Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. The College offers a variety of advanced practices certificates and is a residency site for the Duke University ABPTRFE accredited faculty residency program.
The diverse translational and clinical research activities across the Thomas Jefferson University community and Jefferson Health System afford opportunities for collaboration. Currently the faculty are engaged in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, neurorehabilitation, translational, and clinical research, as well as education research inclusive of the scholarship of teaching and learning. The Department features research laboratory spaces with state-of-the-art instrumentation in addition to 10,000 sq. feet of classrooms and teaching laboratories.
Job Description
Qualifications:
Candidates must have an earned doctorate. The ideal candidate will also possess board certification in a clinical specialty and be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
Candidates with four to five years of physical therapy clinical practice, and expertise in PT foundational skills, or orthopedics, geriatrics, neurology, pediatrics, movement science, evidence-based practice, and related topics are especially encouraged to apply.
