Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations across all age groups using standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Implement one-on-one therapy sessions that focus on key areas including communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvement.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to create a unified approach to care.
- Educate both patients and their families to reinforce progress and understanding beyond the clinical setting.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care.
- Uphold timely and accurate documentation to meet state and federal standards.
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and interaction with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly desirable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
