Description

  • Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using both standardized measurements and observational methods.
  • Create tailored therapy plans that cater to immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions targeted at enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate meticulously with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, healthcare providers, caregivers, and family members to develop cohesive care approaches.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and families to encourage progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Support occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain precise and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and institutional protocols.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in the field through ongoing education and professional partnerships.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accreditation is required within 30 days of employment.
