About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Women's Health program. This Therapist must be certificated in Pelvic Floor dysfunction and have experience in treating this patient population.

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a critical role in supporting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care to patients recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. This position involves implementing treatment plans designed by physical therapists, assisting patients with therapeutic exercises, and monitoring their progress to ensure optimal recovery outcomes. The PTA works closely with patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers, providing compassionate care while adhering to safety protocols such as universal precautions. By facilitating effective communication between patients and therapists, the PTA helps to enhance patient motivation and compliance with therapy regimens. Ultimately, the PTA contributes significantly to improving patients' physical function, mobility, and overall quality of life through dedicated support and skilled assistance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant as required by state regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of rehabilitation principles and physical therapy techniques.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
  • Physical capability to perform lifting and carrying of heavy weights safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
  • Familiarity with voluntary insurance programs related to physical therapy services.
  • Strong eye-hand coordination to assist with therapeutic activities.
  • Demonstrated compassion and excellent interpersonal skills in patient care.
  • Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or modalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists in executing individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing rehabilitation.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and activities, ensuring proper technique and safety.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment by following universal precautions and infection control protocols.
  • Prepare and organize equipment and treatment areas prior to patient sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and care techniques to be performed outside of therapy sessions.
  • Assist with lifting and transferring patients as needed, ensuring proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
