River Therapies is a private therapy company located in the Fox Chapel community of Pennsylvania. We specialize in outpatient, early intervention, and school-based therapy services. Our mission is to serve God, by helping children surpass what others said they would never achieve.
We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our school team! We are currently staffing for a part time position, working 2 days/week in a school in Beaver County, PA. This position has the potential to grow into a full-time role, also providing Early Intervention services to the birth-to-three population in Allegheny County.
As a member of the therapy department, you will work with other therapeutic staff, family members, school administrators, and staff for IEP implementation and report to our administration staff at River Therapies.
What You Will Do:
provide daily occupational therapy sessions to students identified as requiring services
complete daily documentation
complete progress reports and all other required paperwork for IEP and 504 implementation in PA
maintain required communication with families and staff for the betterment of each student
maintain required communication with the Occupational Therapy Supervisor and collaborate with Supervisor on treatment session planning and activities, progress reports, and school-based goals
regular meetings with administration staff to discuss caseloads, answer questions, and promote overall employment success
work with school administration staff regarding caseloads and meetings
attend IEP meetings, providing occupational therapy input and collaborating with the school team, including student's guardians, on occupational therapy practices and progress throughout occupational therapy services
promote a safe and welcoming therapeutic environment for students
What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
- License as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of PA
excellent communication skills
professional and positive work ethic
school-based experience is preferred, but not required
passion for the field of pediatric occupational therapy
