Speech-Language Pathologist (Full-Time) Location: Syracuse, NY (On-site) Schedule: M-F, Sept-June with optional summer work Salary: $53,481.75/10 months + optional summer pay Sign-On Bonus: $3,000 Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt License Required: NYS Speech-Language Pathologist License Compensation for this position is pre-determined based on our salary structure and is non-negotiable. Position Summary Jowonio is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our collaborative educational team. This role supports preschool-aged children through direct therapy, classroom-based intervention, and consultative support. The ideal candidate brings expertise in early childhood development, a functional and naturalistic approach to communication support, and a commitment to inclusive practices. Key Responsibilities Communication Assessment Assess children's communication skills using a functional approach. Serve as a therapist in the classroom, member of the Evaluation Team, and/or provider of Supplemental Evaluations. Intervention & Instruction Develop and implement interventions that support communication through: One-on-one and group instruction in the classroom and therapy room. Leading small and large group classroom activities. Participating in ongoing classroom routines that encourage structured and natural communication. Classroom-Based Support Plan and coordinate language-based activities for classroom teachers to implement. Provide strategies for integrating communication development into daily classroom activities. Collaboration & Consultation Communicate regularly with teachers, support staff, and parents about children's communication needs and progress. Model effective interventions to support communication at school and home. Utilize augmentative communication approaches and assistive technologies as needed. Documentation & IEPs Contribute to writing communication sections of IFSPs, IEPs, updates, and progress reports. Assist in compiling transition portfolios and provide input on other IEP sections as relevant. Participate in writing evaluation reports. Develop and maintain regular documentation procedures. Keep logs on therapy activities, student progress, and outcomes. Other related duties may be assigned as needed to support classroom and school functions.
