Job Overview:
The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans and implements Occupational Therapy treatment in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Must meet basic professional entry-level educational requirements from an accredited occupational therapy program
- Valid NJ OT License
- BLS through the American Heart Association
- Successful completion of all required orientation programs
Scheduling Requirements:
- Per Diem
- Day Shift
Essential Functions:
- Provides skilled interventions, maximizing the patient s outcomes by successfully anticipating patient s response to care provided
- Performs effective, efficient, fluid, and coordinated movement in providing technically competent interventions for patients
- Performs interventions consistent with the plan of care
- Recognizes physiological and psychological changes in patients and adjusts treatment accordingly
- Uses intervention time efficiently and effectively
- Engages client / family in problem-solving activities
- Modifies task approach, occupations, and the environment to maximize client performance
- Determines time for discharge and educates patient on discharge responsibilities
- Determines need for referral to other disciplines based upon progress, lack of progress with rehab care
- Determines educational needs and educates patients / residents / families
