Job Overview:

The Occupational Therapist evaluates, plans and implements Occupational Therapy treatment in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Must meet basic professional entry-level educational requirements from an accredited occupational therapy program
• Valid NJ OT License
• BLS through the American Heart Association
• Successful completion of all required orientation programs

Scheduling Requirements:

• Per Diem
• Day Shift

Essential Functions:

• Provides skilled interventions, maximizing the patient s outcomes by successfully anticipating patient s response to care provided
• Performs effective, efficient, fluid, and coordinated movement in providing technically competent interventions for patients
• Performs interventions consistent with the plan of care
• Recognizes physiological and psychological changes in patients and adjusts treatment accordingly
• Uses intervention time efficiently and effectively
• Engages client / family in problem-solving activities
• Modifies task approach, occupations, and the environment to maximize client performance
• Determines time for discharge and educates patient on discharge responsibilities
• Determines need for referral to other disciplines based upon progress, lack of progress with rehab care
• Determines educational needs and educates patients / residents / families
