What Youll Do

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages using standardized assessments and hands-on observational strategies.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that target both immediate objectives and sustained communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to forge unified care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families to empower their progress beyond clinical settings.
  • Assist with infrequent inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care during all stages of treatment.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuous education and interdisciplinary cooperation.

Educational Requirements

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications Needed

  • State licensure to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment is mandatory.

  • Proficiency in employing evidence-based therapy techniques across all age groups, combined with a strong understanding of both developmental and acquired communication disorders.
