Description
- Assess patients of all ages pediatric, adult, and geriatric utilizing both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that meet both short-term and long-term speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions with a focus on communication, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing practices.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and loved ones to ensure a seamless care strategy.
- Educate patients and their families, supporting their growth outside of the therapy sessions.
- Partake in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care along the patient journey.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation is kept timely and accurate, adhering to state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth through continuing education opportunities and peer collaboration.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- A completed supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
