This position offers a rewarding opportunity for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support K-12 students with mixed disabilities in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Engaging in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, the professional will work closely with teachers, families, and other specialists to deliver culturally responsive and evidence-based therapy services. These services aim to enhance each students functional abilities while facilitating their academic progress and success within their special education programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services tailored to students with diverse disabilities in a school setting
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized intervention plans
  • Support students functional skill development, promoting independence and participation in educational activities
  • Document progress and communicate effectively with families, educators, and healthcare providers
  • Utilize current evidence-based practices to ensure quality and effective service delivery

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Connecticut Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license is required
  • Experience working with students from grades K-12, preferably with mixed disabilities
  • Strong ability to work within an interdisciplinary team focused on student-centered outcomes
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and special education frameworks

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based in Bridgeport, Connecticut
  • Contract duration: August 28, 2025 June 26, 2026
  • 35 hours per week
