Description

  • Conduct evaluations for patients of all ages, employing standardized assessments alongside observational strategies.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that focus on both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver direct speech therapy tailored to communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Partner with physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, families, and caregivers to formulate integrated care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to promote progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Occasionally perform inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless care experience.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation, compliant with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Keep current with ongoing advancements in your field through continuing education and collaborative engagement with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet fully certified through ASHA.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within 30 days of employment.
