Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups through standardized tests and observational assessments.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that address immediate needs while paving the way for long-lasting communication and swallowing improvements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions, focusing on areas such as language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to design comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide education and resources to both patients and families, ensuring they are equipped to support ongoing progress beyond clinical settings.
  • Undertake occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain continuity of care throughout the therapeutic journey.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans meticulously in alignment with state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Stay engaged with the latest developments in the field through continuing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
