Essential Functions:

  • Provide a continuum of counseling services to individuals with alcohol/drug, co-occurring, or gambling related conditions and/or problems using a variety of therapeutic modalities and evidence- based practices.
  • Coordinate and facilitate group and individual counseling sessions (ASAM Levels 0.5, 1, 2.1, continuing care), DUI, and psychoeducation.
  • Responsible for an assigned caseload and the associated documentation including treatment planning, insurance authorization, continuing care, case management and discharge plans. Monitor progress and participants' response to treatment.
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with referral sources to provide status reports and completion/discharge documentation for mutual clients.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessment, alcohol/drug evaluations, and DUI evaluations using DSM- and ASAM criteria.
  • Maintain weekly performance productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards of treatment, including NASW Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual I a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field strongly preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in substance use field preferred.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Professional certification or licensure (LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC, or CADC required, or must obtain within two (2) years of hire date).
  • Annual TB test required.
  • Knowledge and experience using DSM-5 and ASAM criteria to make accurate diagnosis of substance use disorders and treatment/intervention recommendations required.
  • Demonstrated ability to record and proofread information on forms and charts required.
  • Experience providing telehealth services preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to professional standards of ethics and maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency preferred.
  • Access to reliable transportation preferred.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage preferred.
