Category Schools - SLP - Telespeech Job Type Contract Virtual School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Remote (Michigan) Position Overview Join a dynamic, fully remote team delivering speech and language services to K-12 students enrolled in Michigan public schools. You'll conduct evaluations, develop and implement IEPs, provide engaging teletherapy sessions, and collaborate virtually with educators and familiesall from your home office. This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor , with options for full-time (37.5 hrs/week) or part-time schedules aligned with the Michigan school calendar. Key Responsibilities Administer virtual speech-language evaluations and assessments for K-12 students. Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, therapy goals, and individualized treatment plans addressing articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatics. Deliver synchronous teletherapy sessions (individual and small group) using secure, education-specific platforms. Maintain comprehensive and compliant documentation: progress notes, evaluation reports, and IEP paperwork per Michigan district/state guidelines. Participate in virtual IEP and staff meetings; serve as the SLP representative. Collaborate remotely with teachers, special education professionals, families, and a dedicated clinical support team. Adapt therapy strategies and materials to suit virtual delivery and diverse student needs. Ensure full compliance with state and federal telepractice regulations, including HIPAA, FERPA, and IDEA. Engage in ongoing training, professional development, and use of provided digital toolkits. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Valid Michigan SLP license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCSLP) . Michigan teaching certification or approval from the Michigan Department of Education may also be required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in school-based SLP roles preferred. Prior teletherapy experience is strongly desired. Proficiency with telepractice platforms, remote collaboration tools, and digital documentation systems. Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills. Ability to manage a virtual caseload with minimal supervision. Dedicated home office environment with reliable high-speed internet, webcam, headset/mic, and a quiet setting for therapy sessions.
