Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing a mix of standardized tools and anecdotal observations.
  • Design tailored treatment plans to meet both immediate and lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions that emphasize language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Work in harmony with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to forge integrated care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families, empowering them to foster progress outside the therapy room.
  • Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure continuity of care throughout each patients journey.
  • Keep thorough and timely records that comply with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Engage in lifelong learning by remaining well-informed on the latest developments in speech-language pathology through professional training and collaboration.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
