Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages, utilizing standardized assessments alongside observational methods.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate and long-term communication and swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions emphasizing language, communication, articulation, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing abilities.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide education and support to families to facilitate ongoing progress outside the therapy environment.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring continuity of care throughout a patients treatment process.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation that adheres to all relevant state, federal, and organizational policies.
  • Remain engaged with the latest advancements in the field through continuous learning and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a program accredited by the appropriate authority.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.

Certifications

  • State license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
