Description
- Assess patients from pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing standardized evaluations and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans addressing both immediate targets and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing abilities.
- Conduct individualized speech therapy sessions targeting various aspects of communication, including language development, fluency, articulation, and swallowing support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to develop integrated care approaches.
- Deliver educational resources to patients and families to further their progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for all patients involved.
- Accurately document patient progress and maintain records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Stay informed about industry advancements through continuing education and peer engagement.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within your first 30 days of employment.
