As an SLP in our Outpatient Clinic , you'll provide meaningful therapy services and collaborate with a passionate interdisciplinary team, and help clients thrive through personalized care.

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION:

  • On-site position, weekdays.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Salary range $61,000-$72,000/year (exempt).
  • Salary based on skills and experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Provide 1:1 speech therapy and AAC support.
  • Conduct evaluations and write treatment plans/reports.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and students.
  • Collaborate with therapists, educators, and caregivers.
  • Maintain a caseload of 35 clients per week.
  • Provide home programming and training to parents, guardians, and caregivers to ensure carryover of therapy.
  • Collaborate with outpatient cliinic team to strive for continued expansion and improvement of clinical services.
  • Collaborate with supervisor to maximize billing and client care.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING:

Education:

  • Master's or doctorate degree in speech language pathology.
  • Current, unrestricted, active speech language pathology license with the state of Illinois.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or Clinical Fellow (CF).

Experience:

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Skill Sets:

  • Proficient and comfortable with technology such as Microsoft Office, Teams, Zoom, etc.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong communication, tech, and organization skills.
  • Passion for inclusive, client-centered care.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record with proof of ongoing personal motor vehicle insurance.
  • Must be able to self-transport to work and site visits.
  • Ability to promote and adhere to company values.
  • A commitment to a diverse, inclusive, and equitable work environment.
  • Ability to fulfill all necessary training requirements of the agency, including but not limited to crisis management (crisis management training includes de-escalation strategies and physical management techniques).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The person in this position may encounter clients exhibiting physical aggression; must be comfortable working in periods of crisis and feel comfortable de-escalating individually or as a team.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to assist clients/students, access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • The ability to observe details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Consistently position self to maintain files in cabinets or assist clients/students.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in all situations.
  • Must be able to follow Helping Hand procedures during emergency situations and provide safety and security of individuals along with Helping Hand property.
