A K-12 school in the Elgin, IL area is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide services during the current school year (CSY) contract, with potential for extended summer work. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse student population including individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, and emotional disabilities. Many students utilize AAC devices, requiring specialized skills in augmentative and alternative communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy to a caseload of approximately 20-30 students ranging from early childhood through high school
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students communication needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student progress
- Utilize AAC devices and assistive technology effectively to enhance communication outcomes
- Document sessions, assess student progress, and comply with all applicable regulations and guidelines
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Illinois SLP license and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience working in pediatric settings, especially schools serving students with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with school-based therapy requirements and IEP processes
- Ability to work a 37.5-hour week from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
