Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create customized therapeutic plans that address immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing.
- Work alongside physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to build integrated care plans.
- Provide education and resources to patients and their families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Perform occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the recovery process.
- Document patient information accurately and promptly in compliance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is still pending.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Therapist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
