Elementary School Occupational Therapist

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available at an elementary school setting, focusing on supporting students in both self-contained and resource classrooms. This contract role runs from August 7, 2025, through May 22, 2026, encompassing 37.5 hours per week. The position is located in Crystal Lake, IL. Key responsibilities include ensuring students can actively participate in classroom activities alongside their peers by addressing fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, sensory processing, and self-care skills. The therapist will modify tasks or environments to meet individual student needs, perform diagnostic and evaluation testing as appropriate, and deliver clear, comprehensive reports based on assessments and observations. Developing and maintaining IEP objectives or accommodations is fundamental, along with collaborating with parents and team members to discuss student development and support strategies. Qualifications for this role require candidates to hold or be qualified to hold an Illinois state license as an Occupational Therapist. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team are essential, as well as flexibility and problem-solving skills to address the unique needs of each student.
