Travel Respiratory Therapist - NICU RT

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification to work night shifts in both NICU and adult critical care areas.

• Work in a community hospital with coverage in NICU, adult critical care, emergency department, stepdown units, and pediatric unit
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Potential for mandatory on-call shifts, up to 2 per month
• Role includes floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Patient population includes neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care
• Epic EMR system is used; Epic experience preferred
• Level II Trauma Center work environment
• Scrub color is wine
• Not a NICU-only position; will rotate to adult units and respond to variable acuity assignments
• Required to attend monthly department meetings or review minutes and confirm understanding
• Must complete up to 8 hours of required modules within 1 week of offer acceptance
• Return staff must have a minimum 1 year gap before returning as a traveler
• First time travelers are accepted
• RTO (requested time off) and block scheduling accommodated at manager's discretion
• Local candidates accepted at same rate

• Current BLS certification required
• Current CRTT required
• Active VA Respiratory Care Practitioner license or eligibility (compact accepted); license required if applicable
• At least 2 years of recent experience in respiratory therapy
• ACLS required within 90 days of start (may begin with ACLS pending)
• Respiratory therapy experience with airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gases, oxygen therapy, suction, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers required
• Adult critical care and emergency department experience required
• NRP and RRT certification preferred
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
