Travel Occupational Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with BLS and state licensure to work in an acute care hospital setting with diverse patient populations.

• Position is in an acute care hospital with primary focus on inpatient rehabilitation
• Treats patients with cardiopulmonary, neurological, orthopedic, medicine, trauma, surgical, and oncology needs
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm; flexible start time up to 8:00am
• Required to work one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) during a four-week period, receiving a day off during the applicable week
• May float within the therapy service line as needed; floating to sister facilities is not required
• Charting is completed using Epic EMREpic experience is required
• Black or grey scrubs required
• Monthly parking passes are available for staff
• Responsible for establishing treatment plans, providing therapy, and considering discharge and functional status needs
• Educates and collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers, and makes recommendations for referrals as needed
• Delegates tasks to assistants and techs based on competency and skill level
• Completes documentation according to departmental standards
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as SPH, vital carts, interpreter iPads, and ADL supplies
• Pre-employment fit testing required; facial hair policy applies
• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No time off is permitted during the first week of the contract
• Allied travelers may stay for a period of 12 months and must take a 6-month break afterward
• Information about parking and orientation provided upon hire

• Current state Occupational Therapist license required; pending license accepted if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience required
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system required
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility; local candidates within this radius are not eligible
• No more than 7 days of requested time off permitted within a 13-week contract
• First time travelers are accepted
