Description
- Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using various standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Create individualized treatment plans that target immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions that address communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues.
- Collaboration is key: engage with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide guidance and education to patients and their families, empowering their progress beyond clinical sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the patients journey.
- Diligently maintain accurate and prompt documentation in accordance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Commit to ongoing education and collaboration with peers to remain at the forefront of the profession.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
