Job Responsibilities

• Assess the speech and language needs of patients across all age groups through comprehensive evaluations and observational methods.
• Create individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate objectives and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
• Deliver focused, one-on-one therapy sessions that emphasize language, speech fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families, to craft integrated care plans.
• Provide education for patients and their families to facilitate progress between therapy sessions.
• Conduct necessary inpatient speech evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure a seamless continuum of care throughout the recovery process.
• Maintain meticulous records that comply with state and federal standards, showcasing your patient interactions and treatment outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of advancements in the field.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an accredited Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) desirable if not yet ASHA-certified.

Licenses and Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: ASHAs Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within the first month of employment.
