Description

  • Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics, employing standardized tools and observational strategies.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that focus on both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that target communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise cohesive care strategies.
  • Provide education to both patients and families to facilitate progress beyond the clinical setting.
  • Occasionally assist with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring uninterrupted care through the recovery process.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in line with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in your field through continuous education and peer collaboration.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not already ASHA-certified.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of employment.
