Description

  • Assess individuals ranging from children to seniors utilizing standardized evaluation procedures as well as observational skills.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies that cater to both immediate objectives and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions focusing on areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Engage in teamwork with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop holistic care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond clinical sessions.
  • Carry out occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring a seamless care experience during the treatment process.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation that complies with state, federal, and professional standards.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaborative practices.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) conferred by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days post-hire.
