Part-Time School Occupational Therapist

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A part-time occupational therapist position is available to support a K-12 school serving students with hearing impairments in Lowell, MA. This role spans the 2025-2026 school year, starting on August 25, 2025, and concluding on April 17, 2026, with potential extension based on leave coverage needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide occupational therapy services primarily focused on evaluations for students aged 3 to 19. Support a population of deaf and hard of hearing students, tailoring interventions to their unique needs. Collaborate with school staff and families to ensure effective therapy planning and implementation. Participate in ongoing professional development, including learning American Sign Language (ASL) if not already proficient. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Licensed Occupational Therapist with 1-2 years of experience in a school-based environment preferred. Experience in home health and healthcare OT settings is beneficial. Proficiency or willingness to learn ASL is strongly preferred; the school offers ASL lessons to support skill development. Ability to work effectively with children across a wide age range (3-19 years). Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.
