Description
- Assess patients from various age groups including pediatric, adult, and geriatric, utilizing standardized evaluations as well as observational analyses.
- Create tailored treatment strategies that address both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions with a keen focus on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to develop integrated care plans.
- Educate patients and their families to promote progress beyond the therapeutic environment.
- Facilitate inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a continuum of care throughout each phase of treatment.
- Accurately document patient information in line with federal, state, and organizational protocols.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on the latest advancements in the field through education and peer interaction.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
