Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract An occupational therapist is needed for a leave contract role supporting K-12 students in a school setting from mid-November to mid-January in Bethlehem, PA. This position focuses on delivering both direct and consultative occupational therapy services to help students succeed academically and functionally. Key responsibilities for this role include: Conducting comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine eligibility under IDEA and Section 504. Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized therapy goals and treatment plans aligned with IEP/504 requirements. Providing direct OT services in various environments such as classrooms and therapy rooms. Collaborating closely with teachers, special educators, school psychologists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and families. Assisting students in skill development related to fine motor control, sensory processing, self-care, handwriting, visual-motor integration, and adaptive behaviors. Maintaining thorough, timely documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations. Participating in IEP/504 meetings and contributing to individualized educational planning. Offering recommendations on accommodations, assistive technology, and classroom modifications. Delivering staff training or consultation to enhance classroom support strategies. Ensuring adherence to Pennsylvania Department of Education and licensure standards. Qualifications include: Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Pennsylvania Occupational Therapist license. NBCOT certification. Required Pennsylvania background clearances including PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance. Experience or a strong interest in working with children and youth within educational settings.
