Description
- Conduct evaluations for diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, adults, and seniors, using both standardized assessments and observational methods.
- Craft individualized therapeutic plans addressing specific short-term objectives as well as enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy interventions focusing on language, fluency, communication, voice, and swallowing.
- Cooperate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish cohesive care strategies.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families to encourage continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Coordinate occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure an uninterrupted continuum of care.
- Uphold meticulous documentation that aligns with all state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through education and collaboration with peers in the field.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA is pending.
Certifications
- Possession of a state license to practice as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
