Description

• Assess and evaluate patients from pediatric to geriatric demographics through standardized testing and keen observation.
• Construct individualized therapy plans targeting immediate needs and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
• Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions that focus on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and caregivers to develop comprehensive strategies for care.
• Facilitate educational sessions with patients and families to promote therapy progress beyond the clinical setting.
• Participate in inpatient therapy evaluations, ensuring holistic care throughout every step of the patient's journey.
• Maintain up-to-date and compliant documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through continuous education and peer mentorship.

Education

• A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those yet to achieve ASHA certification.

Certifications

• Licensure as a Speech Language Therapist in the state of Florida.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory within 30 days of start.
