Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Speech Therapist join our team!
PRN/On-call position. Position would be on-call as needed and may include some weekend hours.
Evaluate residents per MD order and establish appropriate Treatment Plans and Goals that meet the specific needs of the individual.
Re-assess patients and caseload as needed in order to determine need for continued services or discontinuation of services based on patient progress. Carry out treatment plan as indicated.
Provide thorough discharge planning that will allow the patient to function at a maximal level of independence in the least restrictive environment.
Educate staff, family, and care givers as indicated.
Identify needs for program development and implement programs according to company policies and procedures.
Identify equipment needs of Speech Therapy Dept. and order equipment according to company and facility policy.
Complete all required documentation according to guidelines specified in Documentation Manual.
Coordinate in-services for facility staff as need is determined, to ensure safe and effective carry-over of Maintenance/Restorative Programs and overall call of the residents.
Requirements
Must have a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Active state license required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
