Our PTs help patients from newborns to young adults gain movement, strength, coordination, balance, and function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing complex diagnostic evaluations upon referral and in accordance with departmental and professional guidelines and standards
- Reviewing patient medical history/record and selects, administers, and interprets standardized and non-standardized tests and measurements to assess patients functional status related to cardiopulmonary, developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensorimotor function.
- Integrating knowledge into clinical decisions and recommendations
- Developing and implementing individualized patient treatment programs.
- Establishing treatment goals and administers appropriate physical therapy procedures and modalities
- Discharge plans and home treatment programs, and providing education to patients and families
- Recommending orthotics, adaptive/assistive equipment, and technology for patients with complex, rare, or multiple dysfunctions.
- Liaison with equipment designers and vendors regarding equipment specifications and patient needs.
- Training patients, families, and caretakers in the use/operation of prescribed orthotics/equipment, monitoring and evaluating effectiveness, and initiating modifications as needed.
- Recording assessments, diagnoses, and treatment inpatient medical records according to established documentation standards.
- Preparing reports, correspondence, referrals, and other materials for schools, providers, payers, and others as needed.
- Assigning standardized billing codes and corresponding charges required for reimbursement.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy
- One to two years of previous physical therapy experience preferred. Pediatric experience is highly preferred.
- Active Physical Therapist licensure in the state of MA
