PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESThe Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering speech/language pathology evaluation and intervention to patients with communication and swallowing disorders, as referred by a licensed provider.Administer treatments as determined by the evaluation in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following disease or injury.Assist patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities.Assist to develop clinical programs for optimum patient care and service. Participate in operational aspects, performance improvement, and Quality Improvement activities within the department.Provide input in formulating budget, assist in evaluation of departmental performance, and take action to remain in budget guidelines.Ensure that patient charges and documentation are accurate and entered on a timely basis. Supervise students, volunteers, and office assistants.Participate in infection control, equipment training, compliance, safety and educational programs, both at the departmental and organizational level.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSA Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology or Communicative Disorders or equivalent degree approved by the American Speech/Language and Hearing AssociationCertificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association.Current State Licensure in Speech Pathology (as Speech-Language Pathologist).ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKEUW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
