Broughton Hospital is currently recruiting for Occupational Therapist. The primary purpose of this position is to provide provision of occupational therapy services for patients at Broughton Hospital in order to assist them in attaining and maintaining their highest practical level of physical, cognitive and emotional well-being. Service includes formal and informal evaluations, development of care plan goals and guidelines, and provision of in-services and training of direct care staff and other team members. This position provides direct assessment, technical assistance, consultation, and training to patients, guardians, professionals, and paraprofessionals. The Occupational Therapist is also responsible for overseeing the occupational therapy services delivered on her/his behalf by any occupational therapy assistant(s), adaptive equipment specialist, and/or student(s).

Work Schedule: This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

1st shift - Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and may vary to meet patient care needs. Please note: Selected applicants will be required to work Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week for the duration of new employee orientation and training.

  • Must have a foundational knowledge of occupational therapy.

Management preferences candidates with the following:

  • Have a foundational knowledge of occupational therapy assessment and treatment of persons who have physical and cognitive challenges.
  • Possess effective written communication, oral communication, computer, and organizational skills for

documentation and case management purposes.

  • Possess effective interpersonal skills to work within the interdisciplinary team process and be able to communicate effectively with management, peers, care providers and students.
  • Experience working with people with mental health is preferred but not required.
