Description

  • Conduct assessments for patients of all ages, employing both standardized tests and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans aimed at addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions concentrating on aspects like language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapists, occupational therapists, doctors, caregivers, and families to create integrated care plans.
  • Provide education to patients and their families to support ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in inpatient evaluations and interventions when required, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the treatment process.
  • Keep meticulous and current documentation that aligns with state and federal regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing education and peer interactions to stay abreast of advances in the field.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not been acquired.

Certifications

  • Valid state license as a Speech Language Therapist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within 30 days of employment.
