Job Description
Position Overview:
Kingston Hill Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, supporting their academic and social-emotional development. This role involves assessment, intervention, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure all students receive the support needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct speech and language evaluations and assessments to identify students with communication disorders.
-Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible students.
-Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in small groups, addressing a wide range of communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language.
-Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication goals within the classroom and home environment.
-Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluation reports, progress notes, and other records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
-Assist in referring students to outside agencies or specialists as appropriate.
-Participate in school-wide initiatives and meetings.
-Provide training and support to school staff and parents on strategies to support speech and language development.
-Provide ESY services (2 weeks and/or flexible working hours)
-Provide compensatory services (as needed)
Qualifications:
-Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
-Valid Rhode Island Department of Education Certification.
-Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills.
-Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
