Occupational TherapistReports to:Building Principal and Assistant PrincipalEducation, Work Experience and Licensure:Required:Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist Preferred:Prior work experience as an Occupational TherapistPerformance Responsibilities:1.Provide direct occupational therapy as prescribed by students IEP across all settings.2.Evaluate referred students regarding occupational therapy needs and determining eligibility for occupational therapy as related to accessing the general curriculum.3.Write occupational therapy objectives for students therapy needs in clear, concise, measurable language.4.Provide consultation and modeling to classroom staff regarding occupational therapy interventions.5.Develop and demonstrate home programs when necessary. Instruct parents in follow through programs when appropriate.6.Maintain regular and ongoing communication with teachers and other pertinent school staff to ensure optimum occupational therapy.7.Maintain ongoing data-based records on students progress.8.Participate as a member of the child evaluation team for assigned students.9.Attend and participate in staff meetings.10.Assume responsibility for providing written progress reports.
