To assist and work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist in implementing physical therapy treatment programs as established by the licensed OTR. Care activities by the COTA shall not include the interpretation of referrals, evaluation procedures, the planning of, or major modification of patient programs ( Recommended Practices for Occupational and Physical Therapy Services in Illinois Schools ; ISBE 2003).
Qualifications- Completion of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program of at least two years in length, leading to an associates degree or its equivalent.
- State of Illinois license as a Occupational Therapy A ssistant.
- Individual is physically capable of performing the essential duties of the job.
Commensurate with education & experience per Collective Bargaining Agreement and salary schedule, but no less than $33,500 annual salary based on 180-day school year.
