Deliver therapeutic support as an Occupational Therapist within a vibrant K-12 setting, serving two campuses located just minutes apart in Oakland, CA. This contract role spans the 2025-2026 school year and offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, providing services to approximately 40 students across a wide developmental spectrum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite occupational therapy interventions tailored to students individual education program (IEP) goals, addressing a variety of needs including fine motor skills and sensory processing.
- Manage a caseload encompassing students with extensive support requirements as well as those with mild learning disabilities.
- Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to facilitate integrated therapy approaches within the school environment.
- Utilize the districts IEP system, with training provided to ensure compliance and accuracy in goal documentation.
- Participate in paid travel time between two campuses, maintaining productivity while on the clock.
- Engage in indirect hours, including administrative tasks and team meetings, as part of the professional responsibilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid California Occupational Therapy license is mandatory.
- Experience working in a school environment with K-12 students preferred.
- Ability to work independently as supervision is not provided by the district.
- Strong communication skills for remote interviews and professional collaboration.
