A great School is looking for an experienced Speech Language Pathologist / SLP to join their growing team for a contract assignment!

The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP is responsible for the assessment of referred patients that require treatment for speech, hearing and or language deficits. The Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will teach patients how to make sounds, improve their voices, or increase their oral or written language skills to communicate more effectively. Also, the Speech Language Pathologist / SLP will teach individuals how to strengthen muscles or use compensatory strategies to swallow without choking or inhaling food or liquid.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • NH License as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Advanced degree as required by licensure (Masters or higher) and clinical experience
  • Job-related experience within the field of communication disorders is preferred
  • NPI # must be obtained
  • 3 years preferred

Essential Functions:

  • Adheres to the standards of professional ethics and state and federal laws and regulations to ensure that treatment/intervention plans are appropriate and effective to help children meet their educational goals
  • Assesses students communication skills to identify communication disorders and delays, determine eligibility, perform the functions of the job satisfactorily within mandated Special Education timelines, and develop recommendations for treatment and programming
  • Analyzes and interprets various data from assessment techniques (formal and informal) and other sources, including classroom observations, to make recommendations regarding the need for speech and language interventions and services
  • Develops recommendations, interventions, plans (e.g., IEPs, 504 Plans, etc.), and educational materials using evidence-based methods and techniques to assist students with their communication skills and minimize the adverse impact of their disabilities on academic and social development
  • Consults and collaborates with school and other personnel and families to meet the needs of students, schools, and the district as it pertains to the childs educational goals
  • Consults with professionals concerning needed assistive technology (low and high tech) to minimize the adverse educational impact of the disorder(s) and provide a means of communication for the student(s) as it pertains to the childs academic and social goals
  • Schedules interventions using various service delivery models, including classroom intervention, consultation/collaboration, and meeting students educational needs in the least restrictive environment
