Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract A dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) position is available in an elementary school setting located in Aurora, IL. This contract role runs for the 2025-2026 school year, offering the chance to impact young students from Pre-K through 5th grade by supporting their occupational therapy needs in an educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct therapeutic services and interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help students achieve their occupational therapy goals. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including special education professionals, teachers, and speech therapists to develop and execute effective treatment plans. Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, and maintain detailed records to contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Create a supportive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages student independence and skill development. Offer guidance and training to parents and caregivers to support therapy goals at home. Stay informed on occupational therapy best practices through ongoing professional development. Qualifications: Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA). Flexibility and creativity in designing therapeutic approaches tailored to varied student needs. Excellent organizational skills to efficiently manage caseloads and documentation.
