COTA Jobs in Connecticut
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a crucial role in the therapy industry by implementing treatment plans that help individuals recover, improve or maintain the skills required for daily living and working. They work under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist and use therapeutic techniques to assist patients in performing activities of all types, ranging from using a computer to caring for daily needs such as dressing, cooking, and eating. Important skills for a COTA include excellent communication and interpersonal skills, physical stamina, and patience. For certifications, a COTA must have an associate's degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program and must pass the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) COTA examination to gain certification.
