Position functions within the Respiratory Care department at Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital to provide respiratory therapy modalities per protocol and those ordered by physicians to improve the cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from neonatal to geriatric ages. Performs in a professional manner, respects confidentiality, and demonstrates qualities endorsed by following the seven Standards for Service Excellence outlined in the SEARHC Human Resources Manual.
Most difficult aspects; Miscalculation of ventilator settings or dosages of medications. Failure to maintain equipment, which may result in incorrect readings. Responsible for following policies and procedures related to the administration of respiratory services. Impact; If policies and procedures are not followed, unsafe and improper healthcare may be given. Maintains compliance with all state, federal, TJC (The Joint Commission), other regulatory body standards and hospital requirements related to provisions of respiratory therapy services and understands legal consequences of actions and interventions.
