  • Diagnose Speech/Language impairments. - Implement a corrective program for K-8 students. - Administer Speech/Language evaluative assessments. - Work with site administration, parents and students to create appropriate Speech/Language interventions. - Identifies those pupils who have speech, hearing, or language impairments. - Assists with the placement of deaf and hard of hearing children in special education classes. - Diagnose speech impairments; plans and implements a corrective program. - Describes to the classroom teach the pupils impairment and suggests classroom activities which would assist and support the corrective program. - Provides resource and other special materials for the classroom teach upon request. - Meets with the speech impaired children on a scheduled basis and to provide corrective speech instruction in small groups or on an individual basis. - Consults with the school nurse and school psychologist regarding children with severe hearing losses and speech related impairments. - Prepares and conducts a language development and general speech improvement program for students.
