Acute Rehabilitation Unit - COTA, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

In collaboration with, and under the direction and supervision of an occupational therapist, helps each patient develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working, through the therapeutic use of everyday activities and exercise, outlined in an established care plan.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of and degree holder from an Occupational Therapy Assistant Education Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education

Preferred experience: 12 to 18 months related experience, excluding clinical affiliations required to complete a degree

Licensure: Current Arkansas OTA license in good standing required

Certification: Current CPR certification

This position is deemed safety sensitive in accordance with Arkansas Act 593 governing Medical Marijuana.

Must be able to stand and walk, and bend, stoop and twist, push, pull and occasionally lift up to 250lbs for up to 8 hours each day. Requires repetitive hand movements. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity with or without correction. Must have good manual dexterity. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and PC mouse to utilize computer software for patient care documentation.

Work Environment

Patient care setting: within a hospital environment and in an outpatient setting.

There is potential risk for exposure to communicable diseases and blood or other body fluids.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a position in a hospital setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Direct patient care staff: Monday – Friday 8 hour shifts. Additionally, holiday and weekend work will be scheduled per the current rotation templates.

Note: Sign On Bonus available per Sign On Agreement Requirements.
