Job Description
DIRECTOR OF SUBACUTE UNIT
SHIFT: Full-Time
Sign on Bonus: Up to $10,000
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Subacute plans, organizes, develops and directs the overall operations of the Subacute unit in accordance with all state, federal and local guidelines/regulations to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times at the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates nursing services with other resident care services such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Dietary, Social Services and Pharmacy services for subacute patients
- Oversees the coordination of all physicians and their associates that provide services for subacute patients
- Directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of all nursing staff engaged on subacute unit
- Maintains accurate documentation in the clinical record of the ongoing progress of the resident’s condition and all other related factors involved in the total plan of care
- Maintenance of Resident Care Plans and the overall management of resident care on subacute unit
- Maintains confidentiality of all resident information
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York required
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in nursing service administration. Additional education or experience in rehabilitative or geriatric nursing is preferred.
- Must possess knowledge of state, federal, and local long-term care regulations.
- Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
- Strong customer service skills and compassion
